We ask all the presenters at Neuroscience 2023 (the 46th Annual Meeting of the Japan Neuroscience Society (hereafter referred to as "this meeting") to first register for the meeting and submit their abstracts regardless of the types of sessions in which they are to present their work.
Call for abstracts for oral and poster presentations is also open. Please submit your abstract through the abstract submission system to be considered.

The abstract submission period is different from the pre-registration period.
Symposium presenters must submit their abstracts. We ask the symposium organizers to cooperate in making sure that the speakers submit their abstracts.

This is targeted at young scientists and provides opportunities to have enthusiastic discussions of their research projects with research leaders who are active at the forefront of this field. The presenters can spend more time for their presentations and discussions in the same time slot of other oral presentations, and get profound and sharp advice and feedbacks. Eligibility: Undergraduate students, graduate students, and those who received PhD within five years at the time of Neuroscience 2023.
* Those who are not selected for this session will be the presenters of regular oral sessions.
Presentation time: 30 minutes per presenter. (15 minutes for presentation + 15 minutes for discussion and feedback) * The presentations will be held in the same time slot of regular oral sessions.
Number of presenters: 4-5 sessions / 8-10 presenters
Presentation topic: Research project * same as regular oral presentations. You can include unsatisfactory points of your research, problems you are facing, questions about your own presentations as well.
Language: Same as regular oral presentations
Selection: Three leading researchers will select the winner. Selection methods and criteria will be announced in the meeting program.
Announcement and award ceremony: The winner will be announced and awarded during the meeting.
There will be an award for the best poster presented by undergraduate students.
Candidates of this award are presenters who are undergraduate students at the time of abstract submission. Graduate students are not eligible.
Select “Apply for Junior Investigator Poster Award” when you submit your paper.
We call for poster presentations of research conducted in close collaboration with the industry or related to industrial application to be introduced as “Industry-Academia Collaboration Posters”.
Presentations of Industry-Academia Collaboration Posters will be scheduled for the same day as the industry-academia collaboration event is programmed. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and submit an abstract to further discussions with corporate participants.
Neuroscience 2023 provides travel support with undergraduate and graduate students who deliver oral/poster presentations. Go to the registration page and click abstract submission button, then click the check box to apply for Domestic Travel Award. Only domestic participants are eligible for this award, and it is different from Travel Award for international participants.

The existence of conflict of interest of the first author, corresponding author (including non-members of the JNS), and their spouses and relatives in the first degree who share income/assets with them backdated a year from the time of abstract submission should be disclosed when you intend to present your work at the Annual Meeting of the Japan Neuroscience Society.
Conflict of interest should also be disclosed in your presentation on the day of the meeting if there is any.

The abstract body is limited to 2,500 characters, including space, special characters, symbols, and HTML tags that are used for text formatting.
To count characters, please click “body” to select all text, copy, click on the “Characters Counter” button, and paste the text into the counter box. Please note that abstracts with more than 2,500 characters will not be accepted.
When you wish to use special characters or text formatting, please copy and paste what you need from the list of available symbols being displayed in another window on the abstract submission screen.
Acceptance/non-acceptance of regular abstracts will be notified via email in early April after the program is fixed. The acceptance notification includes information such as presentation date and time, format, and room. The decision about the acceptance/non-acceptance of abstracts should rest with the Program Committee. Please note that your abstract may not be accepted.
